Build & Design
The design of JJRC H68 drone is pretty similar to the design of the Holy Stone HS100, the Potenstic T25 Drone, and the Syma X5SW-V3 drone, they all look very similar to each other with their sleek design.
The material that the JJR H68 is made of is plastic which makes it very light weight and easy to carry while travel.
The drone is designed for beginners with the landing gears that serve as an object that the drone can land on and it also protects the bottom of the drone in the case of crashing, and it also has propeller guards that protect the propellers being broken due to hits and crashes.
The drone exact size is: 12.8 x 12.8 x 4.3 inches, which is close to the average size of FPV drones.
The drone comes with 720p camera that has WiFi transmission which provides First Person View or (FPV) through connecting to your smartphone, using the FPV mode is a great way to fly the drone when it’s out of sight or in case of the loss of orientation, by looking in your smartphone screen you will be able to know what the drone is facing and you will be able to guide it in the right directions.
The only way to record videos or take images with the camera is through the app because there’s no SD card slot for the drone to save images and videos on.
The camera can be tilted by 45 degrees manually prior to takeoff. and it has stabilization that helps a bit but it doesn’t succeed at removing all the vibration and jello in the images and videos.
The drone is stable while flight and flies smoothly but there’s a tiny bit of delay in the transmission from the controller to the drone which makes a bit of lag in flying the drone.
The control distance of the drone is 328ft which is the average for a drone of that rate.
But the most unique thing about the drone is it’s flight time which is longest of all the drones I’ve reviewed on this website ’til now, the flight time is 20 minutes per battery and the drone comes with 2 batteries so the total flight time is up to 40 minutes. The downside or the cost of that is the charging time which is 160 minutes for each battery which is crazy.
The drone’s manual is easy to read and follow the instructions, and the drone in general is easy to fly and it has a smooth learning curve.
The drone has a medium wind resistance meaning it’s might not be affected by the slightest breeze of wind but as the wind gets stronger the drone will definitely get blown away.
The JJRC H68 drone is packed with features that make job of flying the drone easy and fun so you don’t get board after only flying the drone once or twice, these features are:
- Altitude Hold
- 360 Degree Flips
- Auto Takeoff / Land
- Headless Mode
- 3 Speeds
- Trajectory Follow
- Emergence Stop
In this feature, the drone hovers in the air at a fixed height which makes it easier to handle interrupts without having to land the drone.
360 Degree Flips
This one is on the fun side of features, with just a press of a button you can start performing 360 degree flips in any direction which is considered fun to watch.
Auto Takeoff / Land
This one is on the ease of flight side of features with just a press of a button the drone jumps up into the air or lands automatically, but harshly sometimes, down into the ground.
This is the best mode for beginners and novice drone pilots, this mode solves the loss of orientation problem of flying the drone by flying the drone in reference to the controller’s orientation and direction, not the drone itself.
This one is also great for beginners and advanced since it offers 3 speeds that you can operate the drone with so the beginner and advanced drone users enjoy the experience of flying the drone.
In this mode you can draw a path on your smartphone from point to point and the drone will start following that path, this might make flying the drone easier for some people.
In case of the drone is getting out of range or it’s about to take a hit you can use the emergency stop button and the drone will stop flying and land on the ground, but it’s going to be a harsh landing so use it carefully.
This drone is considered to be an entry-level drone that’s packed with nice features that make it easy and fun to fly, with up to 40 minutes of flight time this drone has the longest flight time among the drones I’ve reviewed so far. It’s a great option for beginners and youngsters to learn how to fly drones.
If you’re looking for a professional drone for photography purposes then this one is not recommended for you since the quality of the images and videos aren’t so great, but if you’re looking for an entry point to the drones world and you just want to learn and the quality of the images is not your number 1 priority then this drone is the one that you are looking for.
Advantages of the drone:
- Long flight time
- Stable and smooth flight
- Easy to fly
- Easy to follow instruction manual
Disadvantages of the drone:
- Long charging time
- Shaky videos & photos
- No GPS
- Might get out of control while flight
- Motors can be burnt.
